With social media playing such a big role in today’s marketing efforts, it’s important to make sure that what you’re doing on social is acceptable. When it comes to etiquette, behavior and what to do or not do, it takes practice to fully understand how these tips apply to your day-to-day behavior.

Here are just a few tips to get you started with using social media properly. We’ll talk about other topics in future newsletters, too.

  1. Make sure you have proper permissions.
Creating all of your own content can feel daunting. It’s time consuming, and let’s face it, we’re all leading busy lives. There’s nothing wrong with sharing content created by others, as long as you have asked (and received) permission to do so. Of course we encourage you to share content from the L’BRI corporate social media profiles, but if you are going to share content created by bloggers or other consultants, be sure to ask permission before posting.
  2. Give credit.
The old saying, “Give credit where credit is due.” applies here. After you’ve asked and received permission to share someone else’s content, it is important that you give the original creator credit. You can do this simply by stating, “Photo by xxx” or “?: @xxx.” This little mention that only takes a couple of seconds to add to your post demonstrates professionalism and respect for fellow content creators.
  3. Be authentic.
Sharing content from others is a great way to fill things in when you either don’t have time or aren’t sure what to talk about. However, it isn’t a cure-all for your individual business promotion. It is still important to create some of your own content to help people get to know you better, and to demonstrate the reasons that you believe in the L’BRI product. When you do share content from others, in addition to getting permission and giving credit, it’s also important to add your own caption (your own authentic style) to the post.
  4. Promote your business in appropriate places.
We encourage you to create your own social profiles to promote your L’BRI business. We love seeing the creativity each of you put behind your content, and love that you share content from and interact with content on our corporate pages. It’s wonderful to see the enthusiasm and dedication from our Consultants on our profiles! We do, however, have one simple request. Please refrain from commenting on our posts with links to your personal L’BRI website. The audience who follows our corporate profiles are either familiar with L’BRI products, already have a L’BRI Consultant, or both. If they do need assistance in finding a Consultant, our Customer Service Team will be ready to connect them with a Consultant in their area.
